Grant Lawrence interviewed Julie Fader on CBC Radio 3 yesterday.  If you want to know why she’s the “Polaris secret weapon,” you need to listen to this.

CBC Radio 3 has put up an entire Special Edition Podcast on Women in Indie Music, hosted by Lisa Christiansen.  It includes tons of awesome music, a reprise of Amanda Ash’s interview-filled short documentary from earlier this summer, and interviews with Amanda Ash, Eli Leary (talking about Rock Girl Camp Vancouver), and me (talking about Ladysound).  I think it’s pretty awesome.  I even like the parts with other people, so it can’t be only because I like to hear myself talk.

The Pack A.D. are featured on the newest Radio 3 Sessions Podcast.  Both the interview-y bits and the music are fantastic (as you might expect).  Go listen!

In other Pack A.D.–related internet awesomeness, Maya’s joined NxEW (read her introductory post), and NxEW linked to a couple concert recordings you can download for free from the Internet Archive’s Live Music Archive.  Plus, Herohill interviewed them (link from NxEW).

The Pack A.D. got together with R3TV to create the video for Blackout.  The resulting video is a lot of fun, plus also it’s all behind-the-scenes-y for CBC.

The latest episode of R3TV features Jenn Grant interviewing a wide variety of people (and a dog) with varying degrees of awkwardness.  It is awesome and you should go watch it.

• Charla McCutcheon was indeed interviewed on CBC Radio 3 today.  She talked about her new project, char2d2, and her upcoming EP, Small Vampires.  The interview also included bits about Bella, That Girl With Dark Eyes (Tiffany Garrett Sotomayor’s new project), Paris, Tegan Quin (who produced Small Vampires), and Abbotsford.  There’s a more in-depth interview with her on Dotca’s Blog.
• Now that I’ve mentioned Tegan, it’s about time I linked to Tegan and Sara’s new website.  It’s very nice, and all regularly updated and stuff.  You should go look at it.
• The Girls’ Guide To Rocking is out.  It’s a new book by Jessica Hopper which provides guidance on rocking, aimed at girls (there’s a better description at the publisher’s site).  CBC Radio 3 had a post (with video!) about it.  Plus also, Jessica was interviewed at Girls Rock & Girls Rule, which is a very cool site that I will add to the links page as soon as I finish writing this.
• Spinner interviewed The Sounds frontwoman Maja Ivarsson about being a woman in rock.
• You can vote on which song gets added to Allison Weiss’ new album!
  
• Ladyfest Ottawa is holding a whole bunch of cool-looking workshops a week from Saturday.

Check out this fantastic interview with Sarah Buchanan and Eli Leary (two of the organisers of Girls Rock Camp Vancouver) from Lauren Burrows’ show on CBC Radio 3 this morning.  They talk about what it’s like to be a female musician, why it’s important to have a rock camp just for girls, what they’re trying to create with the rock camp, and the many things that they’ll be teaching.

They also gave an update on their quest for gear: they’re still looking for donations and loans, especially of electric guitars and bass guitars.  They could also use a few more PAs and drums.
